Description...Nampa First UMC intends to launch 2 new multicultural preschool classrooms in August, 2026. Imagine classrooms with signage, conversation, and curriculum in more than one language. Teaching children school-ready skills while also teaching them the joys of a diverse population of people that choose to love each other is the focus. If you're the candidate, you will have an opportunity to work with age 3 (and sometimes 4)  in a classroom environment that is intentionally bilingual and multicultural. Frogstreet bilingual curriculum is provided.

Best Candidate...you should have solid teaching skills and value the diversity that comes with multicultural education. As a result, you must be fluent in English and at least 1 other language (some of our students may also speak Spanish, but any language is acceptable as the goal is multicultural education, not language education in a specific language). A high school education is required though we prefer a candidate with formalized education beyond high school.  Faith is a big part of our education, so you should be an active Christian and recognize Nampa First UMC sees God through a more progressive open minded lens. 

Time....this position is full-time, hourly. Preschool generally runs Monday-Thursday from 9:00am-12:00pm so hours beyond that to make this a full-time role will be caring for children. We are open Monday-Friday 6:30am-5:45pm and you may be scheduled to work during any of that time. Generally this position is off in the evenings and weekends, though there may be occassional weekend or evening events scheduled (including occassional Sunday mornings) that are rare, but required. Pay is in the $18-20 per hour range depending on experience. 

Compensation....this position is hourly. As such, it does not include benefits, though a transition to a position with benefits could be possible for the right candidate who demonstrates skill in their first year.

Description...Nampa First UMC serves children from 6 months to pre-K. We also host a before/after school program and offer bussing to Lakeridge Elementary school and Idaho Arts Charter School.  In the summer, we serve elementary aged children as well. As a preschool teacher, you'll serve with children in playful, fun, education ways that help them grow and explore the world around them. You'll help them develop new friends and grow through our Frogstreet Curriculum.  

Best Candidate...candidates for this should have some experience working with children. Ideally, you have experience with children in a larger setting, though we are willing to train the right candidate. Time....this position can be part-time or full-time, hourley depending on the candidate. We are open Monday-Friday 6:30am-5:45pm and you may be scheduled to work during any of that time. Generally this position is off in the evenings and weekends, though there may be occassional weekend or evening events scheduled (including occassional Sunday mornings) that are rare, but required.

Compensation....this position is hourly. As such, it does not include health or retirement. For full-time staff, a dependant care benefit is available, meaning your childcare can be free for your own children. Pay is in the $16-19 per hour range depending on experience.

Description...The cook plans meals, shops, prepares, serves, and cleans-up meal time in our preschool ministry. You also serve as a teacher on a fill-in basis as needed. You are a hugely important part of this team and ensure our children get a well-balanced meal they enjoy. 

Best Candidate...candidates for this should have some experience with food preparation for children. You do not need to be a chef, but comfortable preparing hot food for children with support from program leadership. You should be great at managing a budget and be overboard about cleanliness and food safety. Ideally, you also have experience with children, though we are willing to train the right candidate. Time....this position is hourly and could be shaped as full time or part time depending on how much classroom time is a fit for you. This position does not include health or retirement. Description...Nampa First UMC serves children from 6 months to pre-K. The preschool ministry closer is usually a high school student or early college student who serves to close the program each day. This person serves as a teacher but also carries cleaning and close-up responsibilities. It's a great starting point for newer teachers. 

Best Candidate...candidates for this role might be brand new working with children or perhaps even seeking a job for the first time. You'll have supervision and support. Faith is a big part of our education, so you should be an active Christian and recognize Nampa First UMC sees God through a more progressive open minded lens. 

Time....this position alone is part-time, generally Monday-Friday from approximately 3:00-5:45pm. However, the position can be expanded to a teaching position to include full-time work. Generally this position is off in the evenings and weekends, though there may be occassional weekend or evening events scheduled (including occassional Sunday mornings) that are rare, but required.

Compensation....this position is hourly. As such, it does not include benefits. Pay is in the $16 per hour range depending on experience.

Description...We have an incredible preschool ministry, but it only works with incredible substitute teachers that step in when needed. Sometimes, staff will plan vacations with sub support. Other times, it might be due to a last minute illness. Subs are a huge part of the team!

Best Candidate...candidates for this should have some experience working with children. Ideally, you have experience with children in a larger setting, though we are willing to train the right candidate. Faith is a big part of our education, so you should be an active Christian and recognize Nampa First UMC sees God through a more progressive open minded lens. 

Time....this position is part-time and the substitute only works when it works for your schedule. We require a minimum of once per month to remain an active sub, but it can be more. We are open Monday-Friday 6:30am-5:45pm and you may be scheduled to work during any of that time. Again, you can accept or decline depending on your schedule. This position is off in the evenings and weekends. Nearly all subs have another job as well.
